Commitment / Other Details: I am currently running my own business and thus my hours can be rather flexible.Weekday nights and weekends are best. The business is based entirely in Singapore so travel will not get in the way of my tuition commitments.

Rapport Building: I keep in constant contact with them. I message them regularly to remind them about the next upcoming lesson and the work that is due by then.

When I am at their place, I make it an habit to communicate with their parents to let them know at which stage their child is in or how he or she is progressing.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Giving tuition the past one year has allowed me to be updated with the latest syllabus and curriculum system.

Whenever I experience or come across a topic I am not familiar in I'll move on to another topic first, while I go home and revise and get myself more familiarized with the topic before proceeding to tutor the student the following lesson.

As a Good Tutor: I feel that it is important to be confident and motivating as most of the time students need a source of support to further maximize their potential.

Rapport Building: Personally, i think that having a rapport between the teacher and children is very important and the way to build rapport is to listen and connect. There has to be understanding and empathy to be able to build rapport with the kid. For parents, i feel that it is important to have a 2-way communication and constant feedbacks so both of us would be able to help the child develop his potential better.

As a Good Tutor: I feel that having both patience and understanding is crucial to ensuring that the student is comfortable in comfortable in communicating with the tutor. This will directly impact the ability of the student to fully understand the concept being taught as they will be less apprehensive to voice out when they have questions to raise.

A good tutor will also have good people skills in order to handle parents who may have concerns regarding the progress of their children.

As a Good Tutor: In my opinion, good tutors is who he/she able to help the students from zero to a hero. Eventhough the student did not get an A or B in the final exam, the important value that i want to emphasize is there is improvement. This will keep the student motivated and would like to do better as he feel the sense of achievement and this will boost his confidence and morale. As a good tutor, we have to be ultimately patience and keep on giving positives vibes such as encouraging the student although he/she fail her subjects. By giving encouragement, they will tend to have self- belief, motivated.Hence, they want to excel.
