Keeping Up with Curriculum: I've been always learning through, and before I applied for being a tutors, I've go online and tried those Past year exam papers and can get all correct. So I have confident to teach well, letting the students to understand clearly, and not wasting their parents money to hire my as their child's tutor but not having any improvements.

As a Good Tutor: -have patient with the students, and teaching them slowly to make them understand.
-giving assessment to them for revision and also go through the topics that are going to be teach in school for the next lesson.

As a Good Tutor: I'm very patient and thorough, and I pay a lot of attention to detail (I'm very anal). This makes me good at technical subjects because I won't leave anything out and I can explain everything from 1st principles. I believe learning with understanding is the only way to learn, otherwise things are easily forgotten. I'm also practical - since the students have to take exams, I'll also teach them exam techniques. I believe intrinsic motivation is the only real motivation, so I try to get the student to see the value in learning the subjects and to want to do well. I believe that almost every student can be taught how to (at least) pass their maths and science subjects, and I also believe that I know how to teach most students to do so.

Tuition/Teaching Experience: I do not have formal tutoring experience. However, after my A levels in 2011, I noticed my brother's E Math results for his Sec 3 End-of-Year examinations was only a D7. Having achieved A1 in E Math and A2 in A Math, I decided to give it a shot and try to help him. However, due to NS commitments, I could only guide him during the weekends.

During the holidays, I revised the Sec 3 topics with him. I looked through the exam paper and identified that he could not do specific topics. I had him do assessment book questions which targeted the topics he didn't understand. When he retried his exam paper at the end of the holidays, he managed to get 92 marks for the same paper he failed.

In both secondary school and junior college, I was not privileged to be taught by outstanding teachers in school especially in important subjects such as mathematics and science. However, despite this, I have managed to formulate learning methods that are crucial for my success in my undergraduate studies in NTU and also part of a masters study during my student exchange in Sweden.
