Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have been a tutor since I was an undergraduate. In both secondary school and junior college, I was not privileged to be taught by outstanding teachers in school especially in important subjects such as mathematics and science. However, despite this, I have managed to formulate learning methods that are crucial for my success in my undergraduate studies in NTU and also part of a masters study during my student exchange in Sweden. Being in the biology field and have undertaken courses in psychology, I have a good understanding on students psychology and learning and therefore can impart crucial concepts in subjects, trying to turn short term memory to long term memory and bring meaning to what a particular concept is so that students can apply them in their exams.

Commitment / Other Details
I am currently a full time research officer in A*STAR. I will be available on weekday nights in the west and weekend mornings in the east and north east. I will do my best to ensure students under me excel in their studies and teach them the art of successful learning which will benefit them for life.

Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have been teaching secondary school E Maths, A Maths, Sciences, chemistry and biology and primary school sciences since I was an undergraduate. As such, I believe I am up to date with the curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor is not someone who can only deliver grades. Often in school, students are not being groomed individually to develop their learning potentials. They do not achieve the most efficient method in learning and hence find that studying is a chore. A good tutor is someone who guides the student through concepts, develop critical thinking and analytical skills, challenge the students intellectually. The best tutor is someone who imparts and fine tunes the skill to learn within the student which will be essential for the student's success in life later.
