I'm a holder of Hwa Chong Diploma of Distinction(2013) which only the top 1 % of the national cohort can attain. This acknowledge my academic competence.

I've been teaching O level students for 2 years (10 students) and A level students(2 students) for 1 year. During each tuition, I will go through major concepts and frequent question types, then I will ask the student to present his thought/workings for some questions from which I will analyse his thinking and recommend a faster and more accurate method(if any). improvements are obvious, eg. one of my N level students improve Emath grades from C6 to A1 in half a year.

        Check up-to-date syllabuses on ABRSM and Yamaha websites. Have contacts and friends who are teaching and doing so too. Personally still in touch with music by playing the trombone around in Singapore.

        I believe that a good tutor must possess the ability to lead and inspire the student, find solutions to their problems, and help them become enthusiastic about the subject. GIving them belief that they can excel is important as well. Mindset is definitely more important than methods when it comes to being successful in anything they do.

            I buy the best assesement books and try to practice more difficult problems and see how to teach them to the students.
