Tuition/Teaching Experience: I've done tutoring for preschool to JC level students. All subjects for Presch and Pri Sch and English from Sec 1- JC(GP). I've taught Chinese to lower Sec before too.

I prepare my lessons well. I am firm and yet encouraging. I don't like to spoon-feed students. If students were to meet with challenges, I usually ask leading questions to help them to arrive at the final answer themselves. In the aspect, I'm very patient. I feel when students were to get the answers themselves, they would have already internalized the answering techniques and methodologies, and the sense of achievement will spur them onto the next level of competence.

I also have no problems with children that have difficulties studying like that of dyslexia or hyperactivity. I have taught many dyslexic children since 2009 and improved their english overtime.

Rapport Building: I motivate the child with "rewards" if he gets the grades that we have set together. I serve not only as a teacher but also as a friend that the student can trust.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I take time to make notes for the child and I will base if off his curriculum to come up with problems and questions for the child to solve. The use of assessment books as well as textbook questions would also come into play (for Maths) for practice.

For English or General Paper, I will keep the child updated on current affairs as well as provide tips and tricks to answer questions in Comprehension as well as Essay writing. It is important to have a structure and format that can allow a child to excel in General Paper/Essay writing.

Geography is a pet subject of mine and I would be able to help the child in anyway that I can.

As a Good Tutor: I am a dedicated teacher and I believe that teaching a kid, be it just one subject, in Secondary school serves as a platform for me to build their confidence in themselves and their school work. Building their confidence is key to helping a child succeed and it is with hope that this key factor can push the child on for his/her other subjects.
