It is a good idea for me to start part time first to get my feet on the ground. Once I am on my feet, then I can start increasing my load.

Currently, my free time is between 1-5pm everyday.

Rapport Building: It is best to properly introduce myself, where I come from, my status in life, and then from there I can discuss my professional skills and knowledge. Tell the kids and parents how the tutoring works. Ask them what their expectations of me, and tell them my expectations from the child.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Because I help my kids with their school, I am always reading their school books, and use the internet researching topics and materials that will help them with the learning process.

As a Good Tutor: I believe first and foremost, the most important quality of a good tutor is "patience", this virtue is something that you cannot just acquire, you have to learn it for a very long time. One more important quality of a good teacher is being "meticulous" to details, to make sure that kids are actually learning what you are teaching. Add to these qualities, a tutor must have a good sense of "empathy", he/she must know and understand the child's feelings to the lesson and to the topic as a whole.
