Commitment / Other Details: I can start lessons with one week's notice; classes are available on Wednesday afternoons and negotiable timeslots on Saturdays. These can take place either in my home along Upper Bukit Timah, or at the tutee's place if in the West, as the tutee prefers.

Rapport Building: I am friendly and outgoing and enjoy interacting with my tutees, asking them questions about their likes and interests in order to engage them. With younger children, I also like giving little tidbits in order to build rapport.

Rapport Building: Since my past experience are dealing with siblings and cousins, i will tend to be more straightforward and update the status to my cousins' parents. The progress they have made and ways they can be improving even on their own.

If dealing with students and parents for the first few occasions, i will get to know my students better, the reasons why they are not achieving the standard, any heart-burning issues that are hindering them from performing and as a private tutor, I may even be the key link to bringing students and parents closer.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Whenever my cousins approach me with a few problem in their school work, i will take reference to what his school have taught him and in the meantime, keep myself updated as to what the current syllabus is cultivating in the student. For example, reading & understanding , good control of grammar & wide use of vocabulary.

As a Good Tutor: The few basic qualities i believe are essential for being a good tutor is passion, understanding and confidence.

Passion, to be a good tutor he/she must be happy to be tutoring and enjoying what he/she does.

Understanding, a good tutor may be a key link between the students and parents therefore he/she must be able to communicate well and understand the difficulties faced between the two sides.

Confidence, to be a good tutor, one must be able to have good command over the subjects and have the confidence to impart the knowledge and experience to the younger generation to help them achieve grades in their work.
