In 2013, I had 15 students, but was forced to give up most of them after I took on a temp full-time job in March at a bank. As it is the end of my contract and I was released from the bank, I am now going back into full-time tutoring for at least the next few years.
Teaching Methods: A systematic approach in building up students' language skills through Grammar and Vocabulary exercises and textbook lessons. Brainstorming techniques will be used to deal with Compo. Examples include SWOT analysis, Trigger Method, Mind mapping and Getting Random Input. There will also be question-by-question analysis of Compre/Summary questions.

During my time at UNSW, I had the opportunity to be engaged in many forms of non-fiction expository writing, and am hence thoroughly familiar with the use of Business English. I would describe myself as hardworking, meticulous and friendly. I am also a team player, and enjoy working on the ground, forging relationships and impacting others positively on a personal and professional level. My asking pay is between $2300-2500 and I am available immediately. My last drawn salary is $2000. I worked previously in administrative positions at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in the College of Engineering; National Healthcare Group Polyclinics (NHGP), HQ; and BSI Bank. I am also fluent in both English and Mandarin, and am confident in my use of Microsoft Office. I also have knowledge of SAP Materials Management. I left my previous role at BSI Bank as a Tax Review Project Assistant because my contract ended. I am currently a full-time English and Piano tutor with 15 students at the start of this year (though I had to give up some students due to my short stint at BSI bank).

Keeping Up with Curriculum: My mother is a Secondary school English Teacher and is in touch with the current syllabus and she informs me about any changes to the syllabus. Besides this, I have many friends who are primary school and JC English and GP teacher whom I liaise with.

As a Good Tutor: I am highly passionate about teaching and I strongly believe in impacting my charges through my teaching. When teaching, I place an equal emphasis on academic and character development. Commitment / Other Details: My philosophical commitment is simple- I ENSURE THE STUDENT UNDERSTANDS THE SUBJECT MATTER RATHER THEN MEMORIZING IT....I also strive in making the student love a particular subject and understand the need he or she is studying it..Once i have embarked on a tuition assignment, my commitment will ensure that i see the student all the way through until their exams are finished..I am flexible to teach at the students house. I also do prepare my own examination based on the teaching syllabus every forth night. This is to ensure that the students are well prepared for all their upcoming exams.

Rapport Building: I usually build my rapport with the students by bringing myself to their psychological level, rather then forcing them to my level. This ensures the knowledge to be then easily transferred...once this is achieved then together we would move up the various knowledge levels required...as for with the parents, I am in constant contact with them describing the detailed journey their child is engaging in. I will also then provide measures on how they can further compliment their children's capabilities, hence further developing their education progress and experience.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I constantly update myself with the syllabus by engaging on online educational forums and attending seminars...I am also in close personal contact with various teachers and examiners from the examination board and around the globe.

As a Good Tutor: There are many personal qualities and skills that I strongly belief in.
