Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have been tutoring for more than 8 years. Very familiar with school syllabus. I am experienced in teaching both Primary and Secondary levels. I have been teaching students till their o levels. Taught my student from Sec 2 to Sec 4. I have taught primary school student till their PSLE. They have excelled very well in the subjects taught. This is an achievement for me as a tutor. I tend to understand and analyse the students weakness of the students and the reasons for not understanding the topics or subject. I try to give revision and recap weakly for previous lessons taught. I usually also do a revision once a month to recap with the students.

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to commit full term with the students. I teach at market rate. Available days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6pm. Saturday and Sunday 12pm to 3pm

Rapport Building: I try to be like a friend with the student. Usually I tend to ask them about their days at school, what have they done for the day. I usually do a monthly update with the students parents on their progress. I also tend to tell them what I intend to do in future, for e.g. if I need extra lessons to be conducted for the students, usually I inform the parents why and when I need to have those lessons.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I have been teaching for many few years. Hence very familiar with the curriculum. I will also ask my students on what are the new updates. Read up on MOE websites. I have sibling and cousins who are both primary and secondary school teachers. Hence I do get updates from them too.

As a Good Tutor: To be a good tutor, one need to set themselves as a role model. I believe I have the qualities such being self-independent, being patient, respectful, caring, punctual and being like a friend to the student.

Rapport Building: I think I love to teach. The amount of satisfaction that I get through teaching is different compared to lets say achieving a deadline. In one of the organization that I used to work for, I was a trainer for some of the courses offered by MOM. I was a trainer for the adults. Of course the skill sets you need in teaching the adults & children or teens are different. But the satisfaction is the same, when they perform well at work or in school, no other job can provide the same amount of satisfaction or fulfillment.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Teaching in 1998 during my poly days, the standard was different compared to current. Therefore, as a tutor, I have to keep myself updated with the curriculum to remain relevant in the teaching methods and solutions that I'm dishing out. I do go through all these assessment materials at bookshops to see the problem solving methods of certain questions as well as the question formats.

As a Good Tutor: Sometimes students, especially teenagers, they can have a mind of their own. They have their own way of doing things or maybe talking to you. More often than not, they may be a little bit rude towards you. However, as a good tutor, aside from teaching these students of what is within the books, the tutor shall also share with them life skills. Be a motivator and a patient listener.
