Rapport Building: I usually tell them more about myself and what I intend to do with their child. I also give updates on the student's progress and to let them know what we've done and learnt to keep them in the loop.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: My mother is a HOD in one of the primary schools so I check in with her to find out more about the syllabus. I have been tutoring for about 3 years so I'm familiar if the syllabus changes.

Positive and progressive results would then tend to follow suit.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I do keep up with the Curriculum of the education system of Singapore.
Plus, I would keep it simple for students by being flexible to the methods and approaches that they feel most comfortable with.
However I am ready to introduce smart shortcuts for them to effectively and efficiently utilise during their examinations.
Exam papers are also practiced regularly to brush up on the child's revisions.

As a Good Tutor: Exceptionally casual and friendly towards the child, so as to build a good positive bond with the child.
This is important so as to allow the child to be inclined and motivated towards his subjects.
From the increasing passion of the child for the subject, positive progressive results would follow suit.
However I always draw a clear line of discipline.
I don't 'mould' the child, I only guide and coach for the child to reach into their potential.

Commitment / Other Details: My teaching method that has helped my students improve is patience. Many of my students came to me with sub-par results. They fall behind in school because their teachers rush to finish the syllabus in order to kick start the revision for the O levels. My slow but steady teaching method has helped my tutees analyse their weaknesses and strengths in the language. By breaking down their weak components, we were then able to tackle these weaknesses one by one.

I understand that mastering a language is daunting and challenging. But as long as both tutee and tutor work hard together, success can definitely be achieved.

I can start as soon as possible. Preferably Monday-Thursdays, timings are flexible. Sat/Sun mornings & early afternoons are good as well.

Rapport Building: Rapport building is important as it helps the tutor and child understand each other better. As a tutor, I will strive to understand what my tutee's strengths and weaknesses are. This would enable me to employ specific teaching techniques to tap into his strengths and to build up his weaknesses.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I frequent the bookstores to check up on the latest curriculum. I also exchange new information with some of my other tutor friends.

As a Good Tutor: I believe I have the patience and understanding to be a good tutor. Patience is key as the tutee may not be able to grasp new concepts quickly - this is where I have to slow down and explain the concepts again.

Rapport Building: For the younger students in kindergarden or nursery, I send video clips of the students engaging in classroom activities to their respective parents if said lessons do not take place in the student's house to ensure that parents would be aware of what their children are learning in class. I also provide a weekly report to each parent on their child's progress and methods and suggestions on how parents can help their child learn in the comforts of their home to ensure that learning is a daily process with the parents and I working together to aid the child's growth.

For older students in primary or secondary school, I communicate with the parents of the students regularly to ensure that they are aware of their child'd progress.
