Tuition/Teaching Experience
I've tutored my younger cousins in English a few years ago for their PSLE as well as some casual tuition sessions with my juniors in Secondary School. I haven't had much experience yet but I hope to be able to tutor more so as to build up my tutoring portfolio.
I'm able to start any time but I can only commit till August 2014 as I'll be continuing my studies overseas. Available timings would include:
-Monday to Wednesday: 7:30pm onwards
Rapport Building
I will talk to my students' parents about their weaknesses in school so as to build them up in terms of confidence in their school work and the subjects that they have trouble with. I will also have in-depth conversations with my students to understand them better and to bond with them on a teacher-student level so that they will feel comfortable enough to want to learn even more. Ultimately, my goal is for my students to enjoy the learning process and for their parents to see the outcome.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I frequent local bookstores and browse through assessment books and textbooks to familiarise myself with the content so that I'll be able to impart relevant knowledge to my students. I have some friends who are tutors as well, and we get together to discuss the syllabus and identify any issues that we have with it and try to solve it as a group.
