As someone who has had 8 years of experience working in the Education industry, I am very familiar with the concerns that parents have when choosing someone to guide their children in their duties. I am determined to help the students not only gain new understanding of their subjects, but also to build their confidence so that they do not suffer from test anxiety or poor time management.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Most of my students come to me low grades (AL7 and below). Within 6 months, I am able to help them to pull their grades up to AL6 and above. Most importantly, they are able to identify the mistakes they made in the past and explain why it is wrong. They will be able to understand their previous misconceptions clearly and not repeat these mistakes. This will help them to consistently prepare for the PSLE examinations, as they are not just memorising answers and forgetting them within days.
As a Good Tutor
I am a passionate English and Mathematics Teacher who loves to see my students find joy in learning. During my lessons, I connect with my students through humour and personal experiences. After getting my students to share about their struggles with the subjects, I identify their areas of weakness and tailor my teaching strategy so that I can close their learning gaps.         I have always been able to maintain a proffessional yet fun environment for my student, balancing the need for rest and work very well given the specific students attention span. Also, parents will have knowledge of how I go about conducting my lessons and the progress of their child, they will always be kept in the loop of their child's progress. All this being said, my main aim is to first motivate the student and ensure he/she gets the most out of me. Having taught students of a young age, I know how they behave and how I should better conduct my lessons so they learn the most out of the sessions.
        Keeping Up with Curriculum
        The syllabus are always changing, but with exams, the questions always fall back on the core fundamentals of the topic, so I believe as long as there is a solid foundation set by me when I teach the students, only minor tweaks are needed to ensure he/she does well in the subject I am teaching.
        As a Good Tutor
        patience and targeting the necessary loopholes in the students understanding of concepts is crucial. As well as ensuring the parent-tutor relationship is open and should there be any enquiries on either ends, it will be promptly addressed. Also, having a good tutor-tutee relationship is also crucial as that is the main reason why I am giving tuition, which is the ensure the best is being given to my student and that he/she excels in all that he/she does.

          As much of a teacher I can be, I am also friendly and patient. I work well with kids, and people in general. I was the President of Student Council and the MUN Club at my international school, and as such, I have had to deal with a variety of students with different personalities. I have a pretty respectful and constructive relationship with people of all ages, and I can assure you that I can be friendly and strict at the same time.
          Keeping Up with Curriculum
          Other than tutoring at school, I tutor my brothers whom are 6, 15 and 16 years old. They usually seek help for math and science, and help for english and humanities at times and as such, it keeps me updated with the curriculum of kindergarten to middle school kids. My brothers will be taking the IGCSE and IB so their curriculum mirrors the curriculum Singaporeans study for O levels and A levels, althoughI have to emphasise the difference in approach and style. I will definitely look into your child's curriculum, and prepare myself to impart as much of knowledge and skills on him/her in hopes to help them achieve the set goals you have for them.
