Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start immediately. I have exams near the end of October but I am able to work out a schedule!

I have a few family trips in in early November and December but they are less than five days each and are relatively short.

In January, I start school again but my classes are from 12-3pm as of now so I will be able to maintain any tuition jobs that I have currently running.

As a Good Tutor: I think the basic qualities of a good tutor is to be able to make a subject interesting, if a tutor is able to do that, the rate of which a student can absorb the material will greatly increase. It's proven that when students learn more when they are mentally stimulated.

Patience is also important for certain students who require more time to learn or memorize certain formulas, and knowing that every student takes different times to learn the same material is vital when you are a tutor.

Also, to be friendly and warming will generally make any conversation, for education purposes or otherwise, much more entertaining and engaging.

Commitment / Other Details: I will be able to start from the 21st of October 2013, and am able to give daily tuition sessions.

Rapport Building: I majored in Psychology for my undergraduate degree, hence I have a good understanding of childhood behavior and have had experience in dealing with children of all ages. I have also been giving part time tuition and volunteer at a student care service hence I believe I have enough experience with students and being able to understand them and help them. I have not had much trouble dealing with children thus far, and enjoy most of my sessions with my students. I believe I will be able to handle parents professionally and should not have a problem building good rapport with both my students and their parents.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: As I have mentioned, I have been giving tuition for a few years now on a frequent basis hence I have a good idea of what the current curriculum entails. Nonetheless, I also get information off friends and colleagues who are current teachers and/or NIE students.

As a Good Tutor: I believe a good tutor must be able to understand the needs of his/her student. It will be good for the tutor to have a background of not only the student's academic skills, but also other information such as family background and hobbies/interests. This is so that the tutor will be able to gauge the student and understand him/her on a personal level. This will help the tutor to deliver the session in a way that will suit the student best and capture the attention of the student.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I read the news from time to time so I know about current affairs. I also enjoy reading for leisure so I have a good command of English. I believe I am competent in my analytical skills, enough to offer advice on subjects such as General Paper or English Literature.

As a Good Tutor: I think teaching is also learning so as a tutor I do not want to come across as domineering or force the students to do work they find meaningless. I believe in effective communication to do well in both work and life. Responsibility to the work, the parents and the students is also important. I think a good tutor will teach students beyond what is required and help them appreciate what they study.
