Rapport Building
I majored in Psychology for my undergraduate degree, hence I have a good understanding of childhood behavior and have had experience in dealing with children of all ages. I have also been giving part time tuition and volunteer at a student care service hence I believe I have enough experience with students and being able to understand them and help them. I have not had much trouble dealing with children thus far, and enjoy most of my sessions with my students. I believe I will be able to handle parents professionally and should not have a problem building good rapport with both my students and their parents.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
As I have mentioned, I have been giving tuition for a few years now on a frequent basis hence I have a good idea of what the current curriculum entails. Nonetheless, I also get information off friends and colleagues who are current teachers and/or NIE students.
As a Good Tutor
I believe a good tutor must be able to understand the needs of his/her student. It will be good for the tutor to have a background of not only the student's academic skills, but also other information such as family background and hobbies/interests. This is so that the tutor will be able to gauge the student and understand him/her on a personal level. This will help the tutor to deliver the session in a way that will suit the student best and capture the attention of the student.
