My sessions are divided into a few parts: 1. Review topics taught in school. 2. Q&A to clarify student's doubts. 3. Practice selected questions to highlight exam demands by PSLE and O level examiners. My value as a tutor comes from my experience as a PSLE marker and high competency in the secondary school subjects. If I have scored Aces, I know what answers markers are looking for. Other tutors might not be sure that what they are teaching and what answer scores. Not me.

Rapport Building: I build rapport by developing respect. There is professional respect for you, your child and vice versa. Based on respect, we set our goals and work towards it. Expectations on students and parents are based on common Asian values as they are expected of myself.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I'm a current adjunct teacher in a MOE school. I am in constant update on PSLE markers' requirement and have been a marker myself. I know exactly which kinds of question responses are required and the number of marks that will be awarded.

As a Good Tutor: 1. I put myself in student's shoes. What kind of cognitive ability they have at their age, their world experience, they way students view and understand things.
2. I break down concepts into their essence before formulating how to teach them in the most 'relate-able' and 'digestible' way.
3. Students know I have a genuine interest of their success in heart.

Furthermore, I have close friends who have younger siblings still studying in primary school, so i would be able to find out more about the curriculum from them and then work on what I can help students with.

As a Good Tutor: I think the most important quality of a good tutor is a passion for teaching and patience. I believe that if I myself is very interested in what I am teaching, the student would be able to feel it too and enjoy the lesson as well as the subject even more, and thus their gained interest for studying would also reflect as improvement on their grades.
