Rapport Building: For new students, I begin the first lesson with an assessment of their language skills and explain to parents what areas I will be targeting specifically. During each lesson, I follow up through continuous assessment, and check on their learning progress a t school to avoid repeating material. I encourage an open discourse with parents, so I will update parents on the progress of their children and any issues that may crop up along the way.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I plan my lessons individually based on the student's weaknesses as I have assessed them. Lessons use a combination of past year papers, external resources, and resources I have personally developed, to ensure thaat the skills being taught are applicable and relevant. I also take reference to the Ministry of Education guidelines and syllabus when assessing my students, so as to fully prepare them for exams. Whereever applicable, I also try to incorporate real world skills into the lesson, to avoid route-learning.

As a Good Tutor: I believe that every student can excel, with sufficient guidance. I adapt my lessons and am patient with my students, regardless of their skill level. At the end of the day, we are all striving towards the same end goal.

As a Good Tutor: I saw many students who under performed in their studies during my 6 years of teaching in Nanyang Girls High. I would like to help students to achieve their goals and help them to realize their potential through my teaching. I motivate and encourage my students through my effort, hard work and focus explanation and analysis of result. I usually focus in teaching concept to my student so that he/she can understand the concepts well and relate the concepts to daily life activities. Besides teaching the concepts, I will give short practice questions for the student to demonstrate understanding. I will provide relevant explanation according to the student's competence and ability. Next I will provide questions that are common for O or N levels or the student's level (eg lower sec Science or Math) for the subject and let the student try. If the student can't do it, I don't mind to explain and demonstrate how to do it again. I will assign similar questions for my students to try. After checking through answer and giving feedback, I will give my students further practice for greater competence.

As a Good Tutor: I am a graduate of NUS Business School in 2018, majoring in Finance. As a former student from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), I have managed to score 43 out of 45 points for the 2012 International Baccalaureate Examinations. Having taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at a Higher Level (A-Levels H2 Equivalent), I am well versed with Math and Sciences.

I have tutored two kids at the Primary School Level during my time in University, both of which have managed to maintain their grades or improve. Currently, my focus is on helping upper secondary school students to improve their conceptual understanding of Math and Science subjects, as well as their exam scores.

In summary, it is pertinent to ensure that education becomes fun for your children! Instead of just rote memorization, children absorb concepts much better when they are able to relate it to topics that interests them. I will also be imparting to your child critical exam techniques which I feel are essential in acing examinations, the same way in which it has worked for me.

Rewards will also be given every time they improve. I want the students to feel that studying should be fun and not stressful. Memorising everything word for word is not the best way to study. There are many different ways and they should find their own learning styl
