As I am currently studying law in SMU, I hope to teach on weekday evenings or weekends as I enjoy teaching music.
Rapport Building
I believe it is important to update the parents on the child's progress each week, by speaking to them and additionally, keeping a notebook to update what was covered during each session. This is important for parents to understand how they can help their child practice at home. As for the students, it is important to praise them to boost their confidence levels. It is also important to ask if they have any queries after each lesson, or provide feedback about the lesson so that I can improve my teaching. The most important thing I want out of teaching is for the child to learn music as well as to enjoy it.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Besides taking private piano lessons since I was 3 years old, I joined the Music Elective Programme in Secondary School, and Chinese Orchestra. In VJC, I joined the Strings Ensemble and was the President and Sectional Leader of the cello section.

    Need to understand the difficult topics which the student face and helping them to overcome the "fear". Based on the past experience, if the student have short-span of focus, as a good tutor, we need to be more patient and help them to be more focus.

Instead of just asking them to regurgitate model answers, I focus on teaching my students the fundamentals and basics of each subject that are behind such model answers, which I believe is important to hone their critical thinking and analytical skills, beyond just answering questions.
