Tuition/Teaching Experience
Have taught all levels (Primary School - JC) for the past 3 years whilst juggling university.
Students have often jumped two grades. Able to start ASAP.
Currently doing a full-time internship on weekdays. Free on Saturday and Sunday full days.
Rapport Building
I take a personable approach in teaching and building rapport with my students. Instead of just asking them to regurgitate model answers, I focus on teaching my students the fundamentals and basics of each subject that are behind such model answers, which I believe is important to hone their critical thinking and analytical skills, beyond just answering questions. This has worked well as my students often end up willingly learning more, beyond what is required of them for the subject and take a keener interest in learning.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Firstly, keeping in touch with developments in curriculum on MOE website.
Secondly, visiting bookstores/ looking at methodologies of different tuition centres in teaching the subjects.
Thirdly, keeping in touch with my JC teachers on developments.
