Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have been a drama trainer for about a year and a half now. I can commit to the assignment anytime from now till the end of August. After which, a change of tuition dates may be required to fit my own University Timetable. Of course, I will try my best to work my schedule around the tuition dates. I believe in using your child's learning style to ensure maximum productivity for each lesson. For example, those who are visual learners can expect more videos to be incorporated in the lessons. I consider myself to be patient and expressive when I teach. Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have been tutoring for more than 5 years; since I was an undergraduate.
I gave both home tutoring and as a part-time tutor in a tuition centre. Then I switched to full-time in another tuition centre till present.

I am familiar with the syllabus and teaching techniques. For instance, I had written P5 and P6 Maths curriculum for a Government-partnered project for my current centre. For that same project, I also written Maths solutions for Sec 1 to Sec 5. Furthermore, currently I am reinforcing the primary Maths curriculum.

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start immediately and I do not have commitments now. However, I am jobsearching, hence, I would prefer to have tuition sessions in the weekday evenings or weekends so that my work will not clash with tuition should I start working.

Rapport Building: Normally, in my first lesson, I would find out from the parents how my tutee has been faring in school, what are their strengths and weaknesses in learning and their personality. This is so that I would know how to interact with my tutee and also to have more accurate observations about her learning.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I would refer to past year school papers, assessment books and I would usually check the MOE syllabus online to know the learning outcomes for the subject I am teaching. If the guidelines are not clear, I would ask my tutee for her past tests to see how the school assess them.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor should be patient, committed and able to communicate well with their tutee. He/she should make the tutee interested in learning and aid them in acquiring good study habits. When the tutee does not perform up to expectations, he/she would look at the reasons objectively and work with the tutee to improve. Most importantly, while building good rapport with the tutee, he/she must not forget to be firm with the tutee when he/she does not do their work.
