Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have 1 year experience in tutoring primary english and mathematics, I have some experience in tutoring O level english. My strengths as a tutor would be that I am patient with my tutees and I try to find out their weaknesses during the sessions and work on it with them. I try to connect and build rapport with my students. I think it is important that they take away not only knowledge in my lessons but also good study habits because these will help them even when I am unfortunately no longer their tutor. I always put in my 100% while tutoring and will try my best to improve my tutee's performance as much as I can.

Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start immediately and I do not have commitments now. However, I am jobsearching, hence, I would prefer to have tuition sessions in the weekday evenings or weekends so that my work will not clash with tuition should I start working.
Rapport Building
Normally, in my first lesson, I would find out from the parents how my tutee has been faring in school, what are their strengths and weaknesses in learning and their personality. This is so that I would know how to interact with my tutee and also to have more accurate observations about her learning.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would refer to past year school papers, assessment books and I would usually check the MOE syllabus online to know the learning outcomes for the subject I am teaching. If the guidelines are not clear, I would ask my tutee for her past tests to see how the school assess them.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor should be patient, committed and able to communicate well with their tutee. He/she should make the tutee interested in learning and aid them in acquiring good study habits. When the tutee does not perform up to expectations, he/she would look at the reasons objectively and work with the tutee to improve. Most importantly, while building good rapport with the tutee, he/she must not forget to be firm with the tutee when he/she does not do their work.
