                    Rapport Building
I like to think up of interesting ways to make learning more fun and enriching for students. Using a system of quizzes and rewards, I will ensure students understand the core concept of the topic before moving on, as well as addressing any doubts immediately. Through regular sessions, I hope to check up on them and present them with fun facts about whether they are studying at that time to make their time more enjoyable. I also hope to maintain in close contact with their parents, so as to inform them of their child's progress, carefully offering advice at times to help boost their child's grades and learning spirits. I will also really take into consideration the particular student's aptitude and attitude towards learning that subject, so that I can adapt and adjust the pace/materials to optimize the learning environment.
                    Keeping Up with Curriculum
On a first level, I would ask the student what in their syllabus/curriculum has changed that makes it harder for them to adjust to. Next up, I would frequently check the news, forums like hardwarezone, kiasuparents to see any changes to the curriculum. Further, I will cross reference the syllabus from past years to that year's papers, as well as read the textbooks/other school papers and get an idea of they tackle that change. Through this, I can remain updated so that the student's learning will always be relevant.
                    As a Good Tutor
Patience, Integrity and Flexibility to learning. In my opinion, they are the most vital trinity of all virtues for a good tutor to possess. Patience will see myself being able to understand the child's unique learning style, and commit wholeheartedly to teaching the student the entire way through, no matter how long it may take. I believe this trait will help them see the bigger picture and the end goal, guiding the student calmly and cheering them on throughout. They should also possess the integrity, and the honesty to admit possible mistakes on their end, acknowledging that sometimes the student may be the teacher sometimes, due to their possible lack of familiarity of the subject. It would be great on their part if they can internalize it, and work on it to become a better educator. A good tutor must also be flexible to see a possible different method of solution, either from the student themselves or the answer sheet. They must be willing to shift perspective and work fluently with other methods. They should also know to adapt and adjust their content/materials at a moment's notice should the syllabus change. I trust myself and hold myself responsible to possess all three virtues to consider myself a good tutor.
