I have been teaching tuition since I graduated from 'O' levels. I have been teaching for 5 years, both private tuition (1 - to - 1) and in small group of 5 - 8 students. In addition, I have also taught in Kumon and Edufarm Learning Center before.

My achievements are incredible. I have a student in Secondary 2 who came in top for his entire cohort in Elementary Mathematics. I have parents coming back to me, and hope to hire me back as the tutor after I requested to quit. Lastly, I have parents who referred me to their family members and friends to teach their children too.

Commitment / Other Details: Once I take up an assignment, I see it as a responsibility to go as far as possible. My assignment usually last for 2 - 3 years. I have been teaching Edufarm Learning Centre for 2.5 years.

I am currently studying in SMU and I can commit on flexible timing. I am available on weekdays (night) and weekends (full day).

Location preferably West Area and Central Area.

Rapport Building: I am always myself but parents like me a lot. There was once, I wanted to stop my tuition with this student, but the parents told me to continue the tuition. As they know I may be quite busy, therefore, they want me to continue and gave me a flexible tuition timing.

For example, tuition twice every week. However, I can just give her a call 1 - 2 hours in advance to make arrangement for the tuition.

Parents do like me a lot and I am always very responsible with teaching their children.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: As I am always teaching, the students will update me if there's new syllabus. If I didn't see that syllabus before, I will do research myself first before delivering my lesson.

However, on a regular basis, their syllabus is usually manageable.

Rapport Building: During the course of tuition, I will make an effort to ensure that I fully understand the student's typical school curriculum and his/her goals and dreams. By learning more about my students, I will be able to personalize my teaching methods to suit each of my student. This is because I do not believe in a One-Size-Fits-All teaching style.

Clear effort will also be made to inform parents of their students progress and keep them in loop with their children's school work and activities whenever possible. I am also very open to questions from parents and will always try to address them.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: To keep in touch with the exam syllabus, I tend to visit the local book store to check up on the latest revision and study guides available and access MOE website on to check for any changes in the syllabus. My teacher friends in different schools will also keep me updated on any major changes in their schools' teaching curriculum.

As a Good Tutor: I believe in patience and dedication when it comes to tutoring my students. I am always willing to go the extra mile for my students so that my students can achieve their goals.
Furthermore, I believe that as a tutor, I am also responsible in guiding my students and allow them to be better learners and to realise their potential.
To learn well, one must be able to study smart, not just to study hard.

I often visit music bookstores for the latest updated books and buy them to help enhance my lessons and classes.

As a Good Tutor: It is important to maintain a good rapport with the students and also their parents. Students tend to enjoy lessons more when teachers are not too fierce and put in the effort to know more about them as children these days are already stressed out by school and other curriculum activities. It is also important to infuse fun elements in learning so as to make things interesting for them.
