I would also ask my tutee about her class progress so that I am in sync with her school teacher. As I conduct my lessons using assessment books, I would choose books that are based on the most updated syllabus.

I conduct lessons with the exam format and syllabus in mind (e.g. skills to be tested). For lessons, I emphasize on foundation and practice for students who struggle with grammar. Rapport Building: I start each lesson with a discussion on their interests so as to use content in line with their hobbies to make lessons more interesting. I encourage them to tell me how they feel and what they want to achieve. I also encourage them to ask me questions and not be afraid to ask for guidance.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I look at the exam syllabus and ensure that the student has sufficient practice for the relevant skills.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor does not intimidate the child as it will stifle their learning and love of the subject. A good tutor is a friend, whom the child is not hesitant to approach. Tuition/Teaching Experience: My name is Zaiba and I am a final year student in Republic Polytechnic Mass Communication. As of now, my GPA is 3.13. I am RP's media lab chief designer.

I have taught 5 students in total, for tuition. Also I have done part time phonic classes for kindergarten students in 2013. I was also hired as a speech and drama teacher during June Holiday last year at Chelsea Kids. On top of that I have taught Prep class for Primary 1 to kindergarten students. In this class I teach them, English and Maths. I have done relieving for this classes this year as well.

As for tuition, the 5 students I've taught showed positive progress in their work. I tutored a sec two boy and his grades improved from a C6 to a B4 in just 4 months. Besides him, I had another student who I taught
