i believe the best way to learn music is through musical games and practice.

i start by understanding what sort of a relationship the child has with music and try to assess how the child would like to see his / her development. we then go through a process of learning basics, understanding structures and then exploring songs. review and homework is given after every class

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I have a notebook which i record down what i've done with each student during the class and then i write what i need to do in the following class to help the student grow further

Rapport Building: Transparency in communication is essential and expectations is something a tutor will have to meet. I tend to prefer to have a small session with tutee and parents before commencement of first lesson to lay out simple expectations and requests for both side, and I welcome any amendment or shift in objective along the way.

As a Good Tutor: Honestly, as I see it as essential that a tutor is direct with tutee and parents what he/she is capable of delivering within a certain timeframe.

Flexibility. Due to demands of Singapore's education system, students have certain periods where they will be busier and a tutor that can adjust to such schedule changes will be able to provide more to tutee's learning.
