Tuition/Teaching Experience: I am currently a teacher in a Primary School teaching Upper Primary English. I have been teaching for about 5 years.

For tuition, apart from simply using assessment books, I usually prepare my own revision materials to cater to students' weaknesses. I have tutored students with varying academic abilities from helping low readiness students to pass their English PSLE to helping high readiness students in getting A* for their PSLE Examinations before.

Commitment / Other Details: I would be able to start tuition immediately and preferably on weekday evenings.

Rapport Building: Similar to rapport building with the parents of students in my class, I deem rapport building as key in helping the child to improve.

For the first session, I will usually spend 30 minutes after the tuition to set expectations/goals with the parents to collaboratively help the child to improve in his/her results. Simply having tuition alone is not sufficient. A child must be motivated to excel and it requires lots of discipline, monitoring and motivating.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I am currently teaching English at the Upper Primary Level.

As a Good Tutor: A tutor would need to be able to appropriately supplement resources to aid the child and cater to his/her weaknesses. Simply doing assessment and explaining it will not help. I will always try to supplement my lesson with resources I created for my class in order to help the child improve.

Tuition/Teaching Experience: Although I have been offering home tuition services for less than a year, I have had many experiences teaching younger kids ranging from primary school to secondary school students during Community Involvement Projects, such as tutoring lower primary students at childcare centres for extended periods of time.

Make things easy to understand as each tuition session is pretty short, thus the students need to grasp the concept fast. The lesson can be made more interesting so that the students won't be bored.
