Commitment / Other Details
Given the given that I am a university student, my schedule is generally flexible and I will seek to suit the schedule of my students.
Rapport Building
During the first few lessons, my aim is to understand how the student learns best. There will be a series of questions I will ask the student about his or her learning preference, and modify my teaching curriculum accordingly. Parents will be updated frequently and whenever there is significant information about their child's progress. I will always be contactable through my mobile phone number, and it has been my practice to answer the queries of my students whenever they arise, including when we are not having tuition, via WhatsApp. This is to make sure that my students always have the help they need and do not have to wait one week to ask me many questions at one go.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I've kept myself updated up with the curriculum through my continuous participation in the private tutoring sector. I check and update on my curriculum knowledge yearly, making sure that what I teach is what is required by MOE.
As a Good Tutor
What my students have told me is that my passion for the topics I teach is contagious. I believe that doing well in our education system not only means we study aimlessly. The knowledge and skills studying entails are vital to our journey as a teen to a full-fledged adult. This means that we have to learn organically and understand the roots and meaning of the content we are required to learn. And through my teaching, organic learning is what I strive to achieve.

My students have also said that I am patient, and interesting, but I make studying more fun than their teachers in school. Overall, my students have achieved at least a 3 grade jump from when I first started with them, most of them achieving at least a B. This is testament to my teaching methodology which I always seek to customise for each unique student.

    Rapport Building
As a current university student myself, I understand the struggles which students have to go through. My aim for each of my students is to not only improve their current results, but also teach them how to work smart. I believe that the ability to not only work hard but smart as well, is a life-long skill.

Each and every individual is unique. I am aware that the same teaching techniques may not be suitable for everyone. I plan to take the first few lessons to better understand my students, their strengths and weaknesses. Once I have a better picture, I tailor my lessons to their individual needs. What remains constant is me teaching each of my students valuable examination techniques to help in a stressful examination environment. Needless to say, I do provide constant feedback to their parents or guardians to keep them updated and in the loop.

                Rapport Building
i believe that having a great relationship with the parents is the most crucial part of a child's education jouurney. Because as a teacher , we are not able to observe the child on a daily basis. we can only get to know them from the short tuition session adn can infer slightly from the test results. i think this is when the up to date feedback on the parents comes into play. Tuition teachers and parents should work hand in hand to know more about the strengths and weaknesses of the child. This is to ensure that even after i leave when the lesson is over, the education of the child does not stop. the follow up actions by the parents will be able to benefit the child greatly.
I will begin with an indepth talk with the parents to find out more about the child's ability and capability. Just base on school performances isnt enough to judge the student's potential and capabilities. it is through parent's and teacher's eyes then we are able to know the true situation of the child. and then we are able to move on from there and find out more about how to make the necessary connections with the child to aid his/her learning and how to improve grades.
                Keeping Up with Curriculum
i have taught many students and they are able to provide me with the latest updates from the school. i also have friends in primary , secondary and JC who are full time school teachers and they are able to provide me with the up to date information.
                As a Good Tutor
the basic qualities of a good tutor are patience, dedication and understanding.

As a teacher, our job is to nurture the students throughout their learning journey. We are suppose to guide them through the paths that they have never walked before. Of course, it is easy for us to solve problems and answer questions at their level because we are grown ups. but we must understand that it is their first time solving it. Being patient about explanation henceforth is a key attribute of a good tutor.

Dedication comes into play in the long run. If a child cannot receive consistent education and guidance from the same tutor, he/she will not be able to benefit as much. The teacher need to put in the dedication when it comes to scheduling class weekly and making the extra effort of buying necessary materials for the kid. Only then , in the long run the child is able to keep up with the pace at a consistent rate and make improvements.

Understanding the strength and weaknesses of the child is the basic fundamental of every teacher. we cant give the right advice and do the right exercises of we are not clear about what this child need to improve. Identifying the correct strength and weakness will help to improve the student faster and better. Practice does not make perfect, it is by practicing the right things, then it will make perfect.
