    I have be trained in Restorative Practices and used to conduct trainings for teachers on the ways to build rapport with students by actions, body language, words we use on them and being supportive and patient. Every child is different and thus getting to know the child well and enthusing the child based on his interest(link subject matter to interest) can make a whole world of difference.

    Syllabus is downloaded directly from SEAB website. I am in constant contact with my ex colleagues and am updated on changes. The most being moving from SPA(school based practical assessment) to practical exam with the introduction of planning incorporated within. The latest(2018) exam papers from different schools are also sent to me by my ex colleagues

              I am an extrovert, and socialising as well as communicating with adults and children alike are one of my strong points. To be able to build rapport with my student I would have to make the effort to get to know the child I am teaching and allow them to open up and trust me in order to learn from me. Being a student myself, and when I was in school, I have been in many tuitions myself and I realised that getting to know one's tutor and being on comfortable and fun terms with them made me look forward to tuitions and encouraged me to learn more. I understand that as a student tutor, parents may speculate if I am good enough to teach their children but I think its important to be truthful to them and to do my best.
              Keeping Up with Curriculum
              Referencing to current exam papers as well as assessment books available in bookstores I would be able to get a rough idea on how the current curriculum is being run. I cannot say I am totally up to date but I feel, if I get to know the student and observe trends in their exam papers as well as homework, it will be beneficial.
              As a Good Tutor
              I think being honest and open is important to both the student and the parents, being fun-loving and friendly is also important to help the student to open up. Being hardworking and proactive to source for ways and methods to help a student is also important.
