I am able to start as soon as possible, my timings are pretty flexible and can be discussed and i will be able to work for at least a few months.
Rapport Building
I am an extrovert, and socialising as well as communicating with adults and children alike are one of my strong points. To be able to build rapport with my student I would have to make the effort to get to know the child I am teaching and allow them to open up and trust me in order to learn from me. Being a student myself, and when I was in school, I have been in many tuitions myself and I realised that getting to know one's tutor and being on comfortable and fun terms with them made me look forward to tuitions and encouraged me to learn more. I understand that as a student tutor, parents may speculate if I am good enough to teach their children but I think its important to be truthful to them and to do my best.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Referencing to current exam papers as well as assessment books available in bookstores I would be able to get a rough idea on how the current curriculum is being run. I cannot say I am totally up to date but I feel, if I get to know the student and observe trends in their exam papers as well as homework, it will be beneficial.
As a Good Tutor
I think being honest and open is important to both the student and the parents, being fun-loving and friendly is also important to help the student to open up. Being hardworking and proactive to source for ways and methods to help a student is also important.

        I attended primary school at tao nan school, secondary at dunman high school, and jc at yishun jc. I dont really think i fit the mold as the typical straight A scholar but i have experienced what it feels like to not do well in exams year after year. I did well in my psle and went to a good school in dhs but then struggled from the pressure and ultimately went to yjc. I believe that this has really helped me understand what a student who has not done well is going through and be able to motivate them. I believe that there must be a strong bond between student and teacher to maximise the time between us and i will do my best to connect with my student and find the best way to help him/her.

        I frequently keep updated with the syllabus documents for psle, o levels and a levels.
        As a Good Tutor
        To be a good tutor, i believe that one must not only help the student during the lesson time, but also be there for them beyond that, for example, if a student has any queries outside the tuitioj time slot, a good tutor should always be ready to answer promptly. I also believe a good tutor must do sufficient preparation before lesson to make the full use of lesson time. Lastly, a good tutor must cater to each students needs as not all students are the same.
