Rapport Building: I would normally have a tuition file with the student name on it.In it will be the work assignments,test,weakness/strengths and questionnaire that i will be providing.I believe in a organised and systematic approach to receiving tuition,and i would expect any parent to feel the same way. I would highlight the difficulties the student might be facing as well as what are some of the common distractions that hinders one's progress in studies. Being a student myself,i understand the pitfalls and difficulties that only a student can face.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: To keep up with the curriculum,it is advisable for any tutor to know what would benefit the child.I would buy an assessment book for the child as well as read up on the current curriculum.I have friends who are primary school teachers,should i need assistance in understanding the curriculum,they would be more then happy to assist me.

As a Good Tutor: The most important quality i feel is commitment and a sense of responsibility.We are talking about a tutor that would inspire a child to reach new heights in life.No tutor should take that for granted.Passion driven is another important aspect of being a tutor.A tutor serves as a role model and a mentor for the child,this professional working relationship would enhance the child's progress.

I usually browse through my student's assignments issued in school as well as compare them against the curriculum used by other institution to help them keep up. Rapport Building: Learning should be fun and engaging. However, a degree of discipline is required in terms of completion of tuition work. Some parents told me that I was the role model for their girls and I pride myself in nurturing children to have a positive attitude in life and academically as well. I have taught a primary 2 girl with mild autism. I used markers and playing cards to teach her math. Yes, learning is fun.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I have friends in NIE and I would look up assessment books and textbooks in bookshops.

As a Good Tutor: The student's welfare is priority. Every child is different and have different ways that he/she learns best. I would customize tuition lessons to suit the needs for my child and impart positivity. A positive attitude is important in every aspect of life, which will help in the journey through school.
