Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have been teaching since 2009. I gained my first teaching experience from Fuchun Primary School where I worked as a relief teacher. I worked there for about six months and taught primary 3, 4 and 5 students. With this teaching experience, I started teaching private tuitions. I taught subjects such as A-Maths, E-Maths, Tamil, Chemistry to Secondary and JC students. My students who were failing their subjects scored B in their final exams. My experience in teaching primary school students had trained me well to handle students patiently and teach them in a more simplified manner that would help in their understanding of the subject. Hence I believe I can be a great tutor who can motivate students to work hard, and make the students understand their subjects well.

Rapport Building: Apart from the tuition duration, I do set aside time to explain to parent the progress of the child. I am honest about the progression and if I feel the child do not need any more tuition I too will voice out. I care for children's learning, however I also do not wish to see children being too advance as it will affect them negatively. So far I do not have any problem with parents who approach me. When parents or children ask me for help, I will do my best to help them.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Being a teacher, I have the first hand news about preschool curriculum. Plus, I also get primary school books to ensure I update myself with primary school curriculum too.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor is one that could identify the need of the child. Also, one that is honest about the progression of the child.

As a Good Tutor: Although I do not have any experience, I've always found myself watching teachers while they are carrying out their lessons. I feel that as a good tutor/teacher I have to understand the student better before I am able to meet the needs to help them improve. I understand that everyone is different and one style of teaching may not suit a certain student. I have had a tutor before who tutored me Mandarin since I was K2 and she taught me many life lessons and guided me throughout the years. As a Good Tutor: Like most of the violin players , i am the result of my own teacher's instruction. I have had several teachers over the years who have taught me how to play the violin but that only make an average violin player.

On the other hand i was blessed to have learnt the master suzuki violin technique from majorie hystek who had taught me how to play the violin into the next advanced level. That has made me not only a good violin player but also a good violin teacher.

For suzuki violin method in australia, all teachers. who are qualified by the Suzuki Talent Education Association must first study under a master teacher to learn how to teach the suzuki repertoire as well as the ABRSM repertoire bundled with Dr suzuki teaching methodology.

Motivation is very important for the study of violin to make learning more rewarding and progress assured. I am careful to pace the lesson to work on the following areas each lesson depending on the students receptivity and interest.

Intonation - Playing in tunes (the left hand) . Many players who have come to me have never been taught how to play in tune consistently.

Tonalization- how to produce a good sound(the right hand-the bow). Again, this area is very weak with most violinists. It is easy to improve when the bow grip and bow stroke is done well.

Repertoire- each week students learn new pieced with different styles and enjoy their practice with the use of accompainment CDS. I will steadily work through the suzuki violin books which represent the standard classical violin repertoire.
