Rapport Building: As a school trained teacher, I have sufficient experience dealing with parents and working closely with them to support the child, both emotionally and in his/her academics.

As for the students, I have several strategies that I Carry out to motivate students and give them small achievements for their good work. I treat my students with respect so that they will open up to me and learning can take place better in the safe environment that is created.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: As a teacher with school experience, I am very aware and updated on the syllabus and changes made by the ministry of education. Also, I have many colleagues and friends who are also teaching and we would share with each other resources and any changes that are made.

As a Good Tutor: I believe sincerity is the key for gaining the trust of both the parents and the child. Of course, having the basic skills and pedagogy for teaching the various subjects are needed. Lastly, an important quality is being patient towards the student and finding different ways and using different strategies to teach a concept.

The subjects that I taught are mainly A/EMaths, and Physics and Chemistry. Under my tutoring, my students have managed to improve their result from fail grade to A grade.

I believe that the success of my tutoring is due to my ability in understanding the thinking and learning process of the students. Rapport Building: I would usually have a first few trial lessons with the students to understand the weakness of the students as well as allowing the students to see whether is he comfortable with my teaching methods. I would then feed back to the parents about the strength and weakness of the student if necessary.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Usually I would borrow text book of my cousins who is currently in Primary School and Secondary School to update myself the curriculum has been taught.

As a Good Tutor: I strongly believe that to be a good tutor, one must be passionate in teaching and always being receptive to the opinion of the students. It is also essential to build the correct concept in the minds of the students so that they will be independent in learning. This will not only benefit him or her today but also future endeavor.

I am ok with the market rate. I wouldnt charge higher than that. I have taught in special need school (Rainbow) for half year. Mostly all kids are come with mental disorder. They cant do what normal student can. They need assistants. Their learning skills very slow. We usually use reinformenet theory to teach or motivate them.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: i read the new textbooks to ensure it is the correct chapters, and of course ask the kid what the teacher is teaching in school!

As a Good Tutor: i think that a good tutor must be able to handle the kids, especially if the kid is having trouble studying. we should come up with a good study plan instead of relying just on tuition so that the kid can have a long term solution to studying smart.

Commitment / Other Details: I'm currently an undergraduate from NUS and does not have any commitment so far, other than academic commitments. Hence, I can start immediately and commit as long as the tutees and their parents still need me. I will be able to tutor on weekday evening time or weekends anytime.

Rapport Building: I've both the tutees' and their parents' mobile numbers. Thus, easy for communication, either by messaging or whatsapp, for any changes or if they have any questions. I am generally polite so I think it's not difficult to build a strong and stable rapport with them.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Since I'm currently teaching a couple of students and have cousins, who are of different ages, specifically in Primary and Secondary schools, I'm very updated with the curriculum.

As a Good Tutor: In my opinion, a good tutor is able to explain any misunderstandings a student might have and also be passionate about what he/she is teaching. A tutor must not give them answers but guide them in thinking and figuring it out themselves. In this way, the students can learn faster and understand more.
