I have 10 years of teaching in a secondary school as a full time teacher, i left the service to focus on other interests and for personal reasons. I enjoyed teaching tremendously, especially the informal interaction with my ex students.I tutored for two years, the first year being in a friend's tuition centre (2014) , after which I set off on my own as a free lance tutor (2015).
The subjects I specialize in are biology, chemistry, and combined science (bio/chemistry), and lower secondary school science. I wish I can attach the cards and letters written by my ex students so that the testimonies can speak for the themselves but can't in this space, thus I shall quote my students words of me, which included 'thanks for clear lessons! I finally understand mole concept!'

I think trust is important, and I am generally opened to giving my cellphone numbers to parents should they require it. I am professional in my conduct and I take pride in giving students quality lessons which i believe will come through quite clearly during lessons. I am open in my communication with parents , and do not hesitate to give them my feedback about the students' progress and areas in need of improvement.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have current pool of friends who are still teaching and whom i keep in contact with. I also have a currrent pool of students, both lower and upper secondary students, thus I am well aware of the trends and the updates in syllabuses
As a Good Tutor
My students show improvement in their grades most of the time. I don't work against the flow of the teachers in school, rather i complement what the teachers cannot do in a typical classroom, which is to troubleshoot the areas of weaknesses of the students, be it fundamental flaw in understanding of basic concepts, or that the student needs more practice in a specific area of the subject.
My basic expectation of myself as a tutor is that my student shows improvement in their grades.
