As a Good Tutor
A musician with an aggregate of 9 years in choirs and more than 4 years in string orchestras, I have guided those around me during my leadership appointments as I taught skills such as technique, posture and basic music theory, showing my proficiency in effective communication and music. As a performer, I have performed in New York's Carnegie Hall, Sydney's Opera House, Singapore's Chinese Cultural Centre, Chijmes Hall, NUS Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and School of the Arts (SOTA).

I am also able to teach English and Elementary Mathematics at the O level standard. While I am new to private tutoring, I often help those around me and so I am able to understand the needs of the student and adjust the teaching style accordingly.

I believe every student is capable in their ways, and success should only be defined on their terms, not by society's. I look forward to helping as many students as I can in as many ways as I can.

                I manually curate past year papers across different schools to identify and spot questions to create my own notes for my students.

                In general, most of my students either score As, or have improved by at least 3 grades. In addition, I help my students with other important academic areas such as preparing for JC/Poly DSA interviews, building their own portfolio and resume, and even internship applications. So far, all of my students have been accepted into the courses/internships that they want to pursue in JC/Poly.

                I hold a Master's Degree in Computer Science from NUS, with my thesis in the field of Artificial Intelligence. I also hold a Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in Computer Engineering from NUS, where I have received numerous scholarships and awards such as being on the Dean's List and a postgraduate scholarship.

I will usually send a feedback detailing their session to both the child and the parents monthly to update them on the progress of their learning. I am happy to be there 24/7 to answer the child's questions in their homework and provide my help to them when they so need it. When given a task at hand, I am not only dedicated and will do my best to prepare the child as if I am the student taking the examination as I completely understand the rigour and stress examinations bring having just finished my examinations so recently.                     Having just finished my examinations I am most updated about the schooling process and the key components that are tested. Having two younger siblings of my own who are also in the lower primary and upper secondary respectively, I am well aware of their curriculum and is often able to help them through their academic difficulties. Therefore, allowing myself to be well versed in the curriculum taught in school and is best prepared in helping your child through it too.

                    Through my academic years, I too had my fair share of good tutors all of which I have noted down the reasons for their effective support they have provided. A good tutor hence entails patience in helping the student go past the mental block in doing well in a subject. A good tutor is also adaptable and is able to cater to their students learning styles and needs. A good tutor must also be knowledgable and dedicated to ensure that their student receives nothing but the best under their care. Lastly, a good tutor should be encouraging and motivate the student to want to take interest in their subjects and develop a passion for their learning process and to actively participate.
