Rapport Building: Having just come out of the school system, I am acutely aware of how stressful a time students face when doing the IBDP. My charismatic, easy-going nature has allowed and will continue to help me connect with my students on a personal level. This in turn helps me not only understand their concerns and cater lessons towards their specific needs or areas of need, but also helps students learn in a safe, constructive environment. Having recently been awarded an MOE Teaching Scholarship, I have a deep passion for helping students achieve. I understand that every student learns differently and will do my best to understand and subsequently cater lessons and materials towards my students.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Having only recently left school, I am still very much in touch with the syllabus for IB History and Economics. I am also constantly reading beyond what was taught in school to keep a strong grasp on the subject and content knowledge. Having personally gone through the programme, and having been mentored by IB teachers during my teaching internship in school, I would be able to provide insights into how IB markets view scripts and how they mark, thus directing students to tailor their answers accordingly.

I will provide self-made notes that saw me through my own IB journey, which remain relevant to upcoming exams.

Rapport Building: I spend extra time after the class to talk to them and sometimes when the parents allow, I will spend just additional 20 mins or so to play with the kids and their siblings to make them feel that I can be fun after classes but when it is time for work, I am a serious teacher and they have to be as well, playtime will be strictly after tuition time.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will go to popular or the second hand shops where they sell the past year papers and questions before I purchase anything for the kids. I will ask them to show me what are the papers that their school teacher have given them first and to see which books or level they are at as different schools have different papers and will be teaching the kids at different pace even tho they might be at the same level.
