Tuition/Teaching Experience: I had taught in a primary school for several years before leaving the service in 2011 and has since been a full-time home tutor. I specialise in teaching Primary English and Mathematics.I have been trained in STELLAR as well as Holistic Assessment. In 2009, I was also nominated for the Inspiring English Teacher Award. I had also participated in PSLE marking for 3 consecutive years.
Many of my pupils have improved after coaching and parents have also requested me to stay on to teach their children for the new semester. In situations where the child is not able to improve, I will give feedback and I will suggest parents to set realistic expectations for the child.

I do use some assessment books during tuition. In addition, I will print other relevant materials for the child whenever necessary, for instance, news articles and stories, to stimulate composition writing ideas.

I believe that tuition is not a miracle, but it can help a child develop some discipline in the process and expose themselves to other learning materials that they may otherwise not see in school. I stress again that parents should set realistic expectations of their children and that they should strive for a balance for the child's learning. Although grades are important, but the joy of learning should be equally important. Thank you.

Tuition/Teaching Experience: I strongly believe that good character development of a child will result in his/her excellent academic results. I took over a P3 notorious form class of 43 students and improved the positioning of the class from last (SA1) to top peforming (SA2), overall passing from 55% to 85%. Majority of the top students came from the form class I taught. The principal was impressed with the performance of my pupils, both behaviourly and academically, and wanted me to take over a P6 class. Many of the students I taught have gone into Polytechnics and local universities now. Many of my students and their parents are still in touch.
