Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start on assignments immediately. However, due to my internship, I am currently only available on weekends. I would prefer to tutor one student at a time as I would be able to give my full attention and focus on one student. This would thus enable the student to concerntrate and learn better.

Rapport Building: From my previous tuition experience, I would start the session by talking to the students about their day in school, how they did for their class assignments and whether they have any upcoming tests or examinations. I would also ask them about their personal goals that they would like to acheive. By talking with the students, I get to know more their strengths and weaknesses in their school work. I also get to motivate students when they feel down as a result of bad results in their school work. At the end of the tuition sessions, I will talk to the parents about the student's performance in their work and school. I would also suggest on how both the parents and students could acheive the students personal goals.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I always have a copy of assessment book which is based on MOE's latest syllabus for the subject that I am tutoring. I always read up as much as I could before each tuition lessons. This will thus give me a better understanding on the topics that I am supposed to teach. I will also look through MOE's website to get updates about any of the changes that the ministry has made.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor does not only focus about just teaching the student. Its more than that. Its about building a good bond with the student. Its about ensuring that the student has understood what the tutor has taught. Its about giving the student confidence that he/she will be able to do better in their work and acheive better grades. Its about giving a student the courage to ask relavent questions without being afraid.

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start on assignments immediately. However, due to the committment for my internship, I am currently only available to teach on weekends. I am able to take one to one tuition so that I will be able to focus on one student at a time.

Rapport Building: During every single tuition session, I will take about 5 minutes to talk to the students about how they have been coping with their classes and exams. Through this, I will get to know more about the student's current status in their classes and also know more about themselves. At the end of the tuition session, I will talk to the parents regarding the students involvements and attitude towards the subject. I would suggest and feedback the neccessary improvements that the parents could implement for their kids.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will usually buy assessment books that are based on MOE's latest syllabus. I will also look through the MOE website to get to know more about the changes in the syllabus.

As a Good Tutor: The main objective of a tutor should not only be teaching a student. According to me, the main objective of a tutor is to ensure that a student understood what the tutor taught them. A tutor must also realise that at times, students might not realise their mistakes and therefore it is a tutor's duty to show the student where their mistake is and teach them how not to repeat the same mistake. A tutor must also focus on the special needs of the students.

As a Good Tutor: The success of my tutoring service is my ability to communicate with my students and understand their needs. I usually chat with them to understand how they perceive the subjects and explain to them the drivers for scoring well. Each student will be assessed and given the pressure they can cope with, thus, sustaining their interest and helping them make progress in the subjects. Through isolating weak points for training and consistent monitoring, the students usually perform well.
