Tuition/Teaching Experience
I was the top student in my school for Humanities (Geography+History) in Secondary 2, and have been awarded the most improved student in school during Secondary 2.

I scored distinctions in Social Studies, History and Geography in O Levels.

My History and Geography modules in University are my best-scored modules.

I have given private tuition before, to a Secondary 4 O Level student Combined History/Social Studies in 2011, and helped her to improve more than 5 grades up to a distinction in her O Levels in just a few short months.
I'm currently a tutoring a Secondary 3 in Geog/SS.

Interested to teach History Elective, Geography Elective and Social Studies for Secondary 3 and 4 Express and Normal Academic, and Secondary 5 Normal Academic

Commitment / Other Details
I am fully committed in helping the student to achieve his/her best potential, and will stay with the student all the way until his/her N/O Levels.

Tuesday nights, Friday nights, Saturday nights, and the whole of Wednesdays are free for classes.

During the lesson, I will not spoon-feed the students content, because I want to encourage the students to keep reading up by themselves, after all, they are the ones that will need to remember the content. This will encourage them to read more, helping them retain the content much easier in their memory when the examinations come.
However, any additional content I feel will help them understand the subject better, I will definitely tell them. Or if they have any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them.

Instead of teaching content (which can be gained easily from the textbooks), I will teach them essay-writing skills. My best subjects are my humanities - Geography, History and Social Studies, scoring all distinctions during my Os. I took History and Geography as well in A levels. I am now majoring in History in the National University of Singapore, and am taking modules on Geography and History, doing well for these modules, and they are my best-scored modules.
Content can be read, but essay-writing skills have to be taught and trained. Hence, I will focus on this and drill in them these skills so that such skills will be second nature to them once the examinations arrive.

I may be their tutor, but I am also a student myself. I will be able to relate to my students psychologically and emotionally, and am able to understand how a student feels and learn. I will help them grow to the best of their abilities, as much as I can. It takes 2 hands to clap. I will do the best I can, and hope that my tutees do the best they can. I want to grow and learn with my tutees as well.

I am very passionate in History, Social Studies and Geography, and believe I can impart some of my love for these subjects to my tutees. After all, you must enjoy what you study, since life isn't just about the grades, but about learning.
