I am a firm believer that education is an investment in oneself, that is why I enrolled myself with British Council Teachers Award. I am currently pursuing three modules with British Council; Know It - Teach It: Grammar, Know It - Teach It: Pronunciation and How to Teach Young Learners. With this supplementary proficiency, I am confident in my ability to teach and guide the student's unique needs by personalizing the lesson plan for effective learning.
Prior to my full-time tutoring which I started last December, I was working with a HR consulting firm for five years. During my tenure, I have successfully trained the new hires in the team on system operations and also mentored them on the job during their probation period.
I am able to start immediately and fully committed to each and every assignment awarded.
My Indonesian student in Primary 1, who speaks only Bahasa Indonesian when she relocated to Singapore last year has showed tremendous improvement in English after 2 months of intensive lessons. She has adapted well with my teaching style and customized lesson plan. I also assess her reading competency using a reading kit as well as story books. This gives her confidence to read independently. In her recent CA1 test, she scored a grade B for English and a grade A for Maths. Her parents are very happy and satisfied with her progress. She is more confident to speak in English in school and at home.
