I have 5 years of experience teaching primary and secondary school students. I am able to teach subjects ranging from English, Chinese, History, Literature and Japanese. For languages, I don't encourage memorizing of grammatical forms or vocabularies. Instead I make students understand the underlying rules of language use through the use of analogy. I had a primary 5 student whose grades in Chinese improved from C to A after a year of tuition. For arts subjects, I teach according to the way I study. For content-intensive subjects like History, I encourage students to use mind maps to organize information. I also teach them how to critically analyze texts as well as how to approach a problem through multiple perspectives. I have pulled up a former sec 3 student's grades from D7 to B3.
