Rapport Building: Hello, I am Jing Shan and I have an 9 year experience in teaching in MOE schools now. I have been a part-time tutor for 3 years while studying in Uni and have graduated from university with a Mathematics Degree to pursue teaching full-time, enrolling in the NIE PGDE Program specialising in JC Maths. I have seen how the H2 Maths and Further Maths syllabus has changed over the years. In most schools, the teachers seldom teach students how to think and approach a problem.

Technology plays a key role in making my lessons structured, efficient, and engaging. I provide students with a full suite of customised notes, targeted worksheets, and curated practice materials, all hosted on my personal cloud-based learning portal. This not only allows students to access resources anytime and anywhere, but also enables them to revise independently, track their progress, and revisit challenging concepts at their own pace.

Beyond organisation, I leverage technology to make lessons interactive and dynamic. For example, I use digital tools to create visual explanations of complex concepts, interactive problem-solving exercises, and real-time feedback during practice. This ensures students are not just memorising formulas, but actively developing problem-solving strategies and critical thinking skills.

As a teacher, I combine these tools with a methodical, student-focused approach: lessons are carefully planned, progress is tracked meticulously, and resources are tailored to each student’s learning style. My students benefit from a high-standard learning environment comparable to top-performing schools, while enjoying the flexibility and accessibility that modern technology provides.

With a deep understanding of how the A Levels exam questions are normally structured, I can ensure that my students grasp the key concepts that will be tested and perform well in both their internal school exams as well as the national exams. All of my students have gotten at least a B for their National exams. For students who have started with me since J1, the distinction rate is as high as 90%. I have students who have improved from a U grade in J1 to a A/B grade in J2 Prelims, students who have improved from a U grade in J2 (WA1) to an A grade in J2 Prelims and best, students who had 4 grades jump within our first 3 months of class.
