Commitment / Other Details
I am able to commit for the remainder of the academic year (2021), from July until December. If my teaching is still desired, I should be able to commit even through the next academic year (2022).
Rapport Building
I will ensure that I am keeping up to date with my students' progress as well as maintain stable and thorough communication with their parents so that they are also able to track their child's progress. I think it is also extremely important that the children receive ample support, hence, if need be, I will be willing to help them with their academic struggles even out of working hours (within reasonable limits). I also believe that the child's mental well-being should be taken care of, and will go the extra mile to ensure that my students are not experiencing heavy amounts of distress since that will undoubtedly affect their ability to learn and maintain information. I will hence constantly make the effort to check on their well-being, and do whatever I can so that their emotional burden can be lessened.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I will make sure that I constantly enquire with my students about what the current syllabus is like so that I am always updated on the latest teaching methods that they are used to in school. I will also purchase the latest assessment books from relevant providers and go through them with my students.
As a Good Tutor
Good tutors must have an infinite amount of patience and a genuine desire to see their students succeed. I believe that only those who truly care about their students' success in their studies can reap good results, and I do believe that I possess that quality. Tutors must also be able to adapt to new situations quickly and efficiently as their students' curriculum might be everchanging, therefore requiring them to constantly update and improve their lesson plans. Tutors must also be able to understand each and every student's strengths and weaknesses and be able to target those areas while teaching so that their strengths can be maintained, and their weaknesses may be improved. If a tutor fails to determine their students' academic qualities, they might not be able to fully adjust their teaching methods to each individual student, hence resulting in less effective teaching overall.
