Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start immediately. If the rates are good, I might consider committing to full-time tutoring.
Rapport Building
Personally, I would think that my relationship with the student is very important. I have to be their friend as well as their teacher. I love handling kids, and my main goal is to make them love me. When they love me and are comfortable with me, it creates a better learning environment for the kid and a better teaching environment for me. With this, the child will inform their parents of their experience learning from me and if the child loves learning from me and their results shows, I believe the parents will be satisfied as well.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Exercise books that have been recommended and approved by MOE. I have nieces and nephews that are also in the primary level, which I will occasionally teach as well. I will browse their textbooks to see the curriculum for the subjects.
As a Good Tutor
A basic quality of a good tutor is the ability to engage and relate with the student on a personal level, which will make them feel like I am their friend instead of someone who is of a higher authority. The ability to make them love the subject is also a good quality of a tutor. At the end of the day, parents are after results. If they are able to see the difference in their children's results, they will be satisfied with my teaching method. Adaptability is also another quality that a tutor must have because different students have different methods of understanding certain things. So we need to adapt to their learning frequencies to help them understand things better.
