Rapport Building
As a tutor I like to break the ice by being an older brother instead of a strict, demanding teacher. I have been a tutee before and thus I can put myself in a tutee's shoes and understand how best to capture his/her attention to maximise the lesson time. I can also be assertive if the student does not have his attention on his work and I aim to build mutual respect and have fun in the lesson.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have a sister in Secondary School and I give her tuition at night as well to help her out in her studies. This way I am quite familiar of the current O lvls curriculum and as I gave free tuition to less fortunate children in a community centre for around 3 months, I have some understanding abut the current primary school syllabus as well.
As a Good Tutor
Able to create a fun yet intellectual tuition environment is definitely important for me.
I will also encourage the student to text me any questions they have outside of tuition lessons and I will help them as soon as I am free.
