Rapport Building
It is essential that each student is able to build up their foundation quickly in earlier years so that their future learning will not be hampered, just as the first domino in a series of domino pieces must not fall if all the domino pieces are to not fall. Nevertheless, a willingness to learn by each student is equally important as they pick up the necessary communication skills, apart from academic skills, in life.

In classes (schools and tuition centres), I will often single out candidates who are distractive or unattentive, but instead of isolating them, I will in fact pick them out more regularly to answer questions. This allows the students to channel their energies into the more appropriate way of keeping themselves occupied with lessons and allows increased participation of the students. Scolding will only be placed as a last resort when all other available avenues to divert a distracting student's attention back to studies fail.

For my private and home students, I make it a point that they continue to ask me doubts outside of lesson times via Whatsapp or text so that doubts by the students should not be limited to solving during lesson times only. Students with great improvements over the entire duration of the lesson year may be awarded with small incentives to recognise their effort.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I browse the MOE syllabus webpage periodically for updates on the curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
...I always strive my best to be patient with my students. Depending on my student's performing ability, I will provide more detailed help to weaker students while the stronger students can challenge themselves to more challenging ideas or be exposed to new concepts/facts beyond their level as an additional form of knowledge.
