I am able to start as soon as possible as I am currently having holidays. I intend to do so until September, before I am required to leave for an overseas student exchange programme of 6 months.
Rapport Building
I have always enjoyed good rapport with my peers. This has allowed them to feel comfortable in approaching me for help. My friendly disposition has allowed me to form friendships and networks quickly. I have been elected as a student leader multiple times and currently hold the position of Welfare Director in my university' Student Union. My good inter personal skills enable me to communicate well and connect with new people.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
As a undergraduate studying political science at NUS, I am personally more inclined to enjoy teaching English, Literature, History and Social Studies. However, I am able to teach math and the basic sciences as well. These subjects require data processing as well as critical thinking, skills which I am accustomed to and continue to use in the study of political science.
As a Good Tutor
I personally feel happy when I help students tackle academic difficulties they previously felt were insurmountable. Besides clearing their doubts, this also allows a student to build his/her confidence in the academic arena. I believe this confidence will go a long way, encouraging a student to believe that it is never too difficult. I aim to instil and exercise such an attitude when teaching students. Helping my peers and juniors in school has allowed me to realise my passion for teaching and also work with various personalities. I believe these experiences would be extremely useful when I undertake my teaching assignments.
