Rapport Building: I try to ascertain the students' level of understanding with each subject, and to decide whether the students have problems understanding underlying concepts or they need guidance on the surface. I also try to develop a good relationship with the parents to ensure that they are confident in my abilities as a tutor, and to assuage any fears or doubts they might have.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I stay up to date on the curriculum by familiarising myself with existing MOE syllabi, as well as adapting to changes implemented by MOE through current approved textbooks and supplementary learning material.

As a Good Tutor: Good tutors are patient and possess good knowledge of the subjects they teach. They are able to simplify abstract concepts for ease of learning and understanding. They should also be able to draw from their previous experiences, especially difficulties in learning, to adapt and tailor their teaching methods for the benefit of the students.
