I think its more important to communicate with the students than the parents as they will be the one at the receiving end. I tend to befriend my tutees/mentees as I feel it will make them more at ease and be more open to ask questions and clear their doubts.

I have read up and studied the updated curriculum and tested myself with PYPs.
As a Good Tutor
I feel that its important for both the student and parents to have trust in you and to maintain a good connection/communication with them throughout the tutoring period.
