Keeping Up with Curriculum
Referencing MOE website about syllabuses, checking out textbooks, workbooks and assessment books. It is important to stick to school syllabus but I think it should not be a rigid structure.
As a Good Tutor
Not jumping straight into teaching. Listen & observe first to see what kind of learning style does the student require. This would make subsequent lessons more effective for the student as everyone's ability to learn and approach in learning is different. Besides focusing on the student, two-way communication with parent about the tutor's intention and objectives is also important.
