Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have been tutoring for 7 years, from Pri Sch (EMS), Sec Sch and even JC levels.
I am constantly keeping up with the syllabus, and always cater to the students' learning style.
Upper secondary level - A Maths Chemistry E Maths Geography Physics Physics/Chem
Junior college level - Chemistry Maths Physics
Commitment / Other Details
I can start immediately, and have no preferences in having small group tuitions or 1-to-1 style.
Rapport Building
On the first lesson, i usually will stay a little longer after the lesson, to understand the student's background by talking to them personally, and also with their parents. Also, I will let them know about my current commitment levels, so as to let both parties understand each other, and know what we need from one another to make this tutoring session effective and efficient.
Tutoring goes both ways: I am also learning from the student while I am tutoring. And every student is unique in their own ways. So learning about their learning habits, and adapting to their learning styles by modifying our approaches as a tutor is always the challenge and the fun part to tutoring.
More importantly, I wish to impart knowledge and also let students have fun and enjoy what they are learning, instead of seeing these subjects as "necessity" rite of passage to go through in life.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have peers who are in the teaching industry, and from time to time I will ask them for updates in the syllabus.
Being a tutor for 7 years consistently has always put me in the up-to-date status when it comes to tutoring.
As a Good Tutor
- Building a rapport with the tutees and their family members
- Understanding the needs and studying habits of tutee.
- Tutoring with passion (if I like what i teach, it is likely that the tutee will feel that enthusiasm and will look forward to explore those subjects together)
