I have 2 years worth of teaching Biology lessons to undergraduates in NTU, as part of my PhD training. I was awarded the best teaching assistant award in 2017, based on the student scoring feedback.
Since i am a PhD student doing research work at my own timing, i am very flexible with regards to the teaching commitment. I can adapt my research work duties to fit in my teaching obligations.

I believe that a good tutor is not only able to deliver the lesson effectively, but also build a strong relationship with the student. If the student is able to relate to the tutor at a personal level, the learning aspect will definitely be enhanced.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I do keep up with the trends of the academic syllabus by going through several assessment books available in the market.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor must not only possess the knowledge as well as being able to deliver the knowledge effectively, but also be able to build a strong relationship with the student. If the student is able to relate to the tutor at a personal level, the learning aspect will definitely be enhanced.
A tutor must also be creative in the teaching method to pique the interest of the student in the taught subject.
In addition, the tutor must also understand that not all students have similar learning styles and capability. Being able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the student will also allow the tutor to deliver the best teaching style to the student.
