I have been tutoring my 2 younger sisters regularly for 7 years, from PSLE to A-Levels. I promote understanding over rote memorization, allowing students to fully grasp the subject matter at hand.
I can start immediately and can commit to the assignment for as long as 2 years. My schedule is fairly flexible and can accommodate timing changes etc.

As a Good Tutor
Tutoring experience:
I have 2 younger siblings in JC 2 and in Secondary 4 this year and tutor them in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. I have tutored them for the better part of their secondary school and JC years and have personally seen their results improve greatly. With my tutoring, the elder of the 2 achieved 6 points in her O Levels, while my youngest sister is taking her O levels this year and has seen a very significant improvement in performance in her school examinations. During my upper-secondary schooling years, I was part of a group that gave math tuition to lower-secondary students. In addition, I frequently explained and taught complex physics and chemistry concepts to my peers in a way that promoted understanding over memorization.
About myself:
I am an avid debater and have won several competitions such as the Singapore Polytechnic Debate Open 2016 and the Asian Schools British Parliamentary Debate Championship 2016, for which I was also individually awarded the "Overall Best Speaker" prize. These debating achievements highlight my ability to present relevant information in a concise and convincing manner, an ability that I can teach easily and served me well for my General Paper. My teaching style is simple but effective: I place a very high emphasis on understanding over rote memorization. When students fully understand the subject matter, very little memory work is required and their ability to answer higher-order question increases substantially. I am also able to easily and effectively explain complex concepts in an understandable and memorable manner.
